Diva Grabovica Canyon

One of the most beautiful parts of Čvrsnica on its southeastern side is represented by Diva Grabovica; a river and a grandiose canyon with a depth of up to 1800 meters and over 6 kilometers in length. Hiking through this part of Čvrsnica will provide you with an unforgettable experience and a true enjoyment of the fairytale-like beauty of the mountain landscapes. Climbing through this canyon will reveal to you entirely new beauties of the Čvrsnica mountain massif and allow you to experience the wilderness of nature. The best choice of route for hiking in this area starts from Grabovica itself, 35 kilometers north of Mostar, along the Neretva Canyon. Your journey also depends on your desires and those of the mountaineers.

The markings in the Diva Grabovica Canyon will lead you to Žlijeb, Tisa, Plas, Strmenica to Hajdučka Vrata and from there further to Veliki Vilinac, Pločno, or you can decide to cross the entire mountain via Veliki Vilinac and descend to Masna Luka. From the canyon to the high peaks of Čvrsnica, exit and start the Via Ferrata which climbs under Velika Udica from the place where Bracin Bivak is located. The entire canyon is full of steep ascents, making it an excellent place for mountaineering preparations for major expeditions worldwide. Adding to all this is the fact that the trail from the bottom of the canyon through Strmenica over Veliki Vilinac to Masna Luka is one of the most challenging hiking trails in the Balkans.
