A healthy and fun way to spend time in nature. GETTING TO KNOW HERBS AND THEIR APPLICATIONS IN EVERYDAY LIFE.
Blidinje Nature Park is a unique blend of the Mediterranean and mountains. The specific microclimatic conditions have led to the adaptation of plants and the creation of the strongest ingredients for survival, while people have found ways to utilize them for their own sustenance.
We have preserved a few written records of life in Blidinje, among which are recipes for products that we still use today, prepared in a traditional way. Although there has been some exchange of raw materials with the population from southern regions, the recipes have remained unchanged for centuries. Preserving health and strength to survive the winter was the primary task. The herbs of Blidinje Nature Park, then and now, fulfill all these tasks.
Through our workshop, we take you back in time to learn how to apply traditional recipes in the present and enrich the quality of life in a simple way: sage, St. John’s wort, peppermint, thyme, plantain, and rosemary, combined with brandy, olive oil, honey, beeswax, just as our grandmothers did.
