Tour of Blidinje Nature Park "Mountain Bike Trail"

This biking route takes you past two stećak necropolises, by four Blidinje churches, past the grave of Diva Grabovčeva, and then surrounds the entire Vran mountain. It goes along the edges of the beautiful and blue Blidinje Lake and through various landscapes unique to the Blidinje Nature Park.
The tour starts from the Blidinje Nature Park administrative building. Immediately at the start, it descends to Masna Luka and visits the Church of St. Elijah. After visiting the church and the Franciscan house of prayer, this biking tour goes through the beautiful landscapes of Badnji and Ivan Dolac, offering excellent views of the high slopes of Čvrsnica towering over Masna Luka and the Ski Resort. Passing through Ivan Dolac and through the area with many beautiful weekend houses, you reach an asphalt road (regional road R-419). After a few hundred meters on the asphalt road, you turn right onto the Ski Resort road for a short break (where you can also have a drink at the restaurant). After exploring the ski resort, this tour takes you back to the asphalt road, which continues further to the Risovac stećak necropolis. Near the stećciis the old church in Risovac, and just before, along the road, you can see the new large church. From these stećci to those named Dugo Polje, you pass through the Risovac field dotted with cultivated meadows and small green hills, which give the entire tour a special atmosphere, making you feel like you’re on a lower plateau rather than in a high mountain area. After visiting the Dugo Polje stećak necropolis, which is also protected by UNESCO and counts as many as 150 stećaks, the tour continues through Kedžara to the grave of Diva Grabovčeva. After brief historical insights, events forever engraved in the Blidinje Nature Park, the tour continues around the entire Vran mountain.
Through the villages of Trebiševo and Prokos, and then through Omrčenica, you reach the very edge of the Nature Park. Throughout the entire route, you pass through large forest areas that provide a true oasis of peace in the Vran hinterland, and the entire route follows a gravel road. Descending down Omrčenica, you arrive in the redgion of Duvno and at the very beginning of the place called Lipa. There, you switch from the gravel road to the asphalt road that leads from Tomislavgrad to Blidinje. It gradually ascends to the exit from the valley that separates the Vran and Lib mountains. On the plateau from which you can see Čvrsnica, Vran, and the area of the park between them, you need to turn right and pass through the fields of the place called Svinjača. It is a place full of slightly higher hills completely covered with tall grass, offering excellent views of the entire park from their peaks. At the end of that place, you again come out onto the asphalt road, this time the one that connects Blidinje with Posušje. The tour continues downstream towards the lake. Along the way, you pass by the church of Our Lady of Snows and then along the edges of Blidinje Lake. After viewing the lake and the high cliffs of Čvrsnica above it, this tour continues along the asphalt road back to the starting point in Masna Luka.
